Pictures 3-15-14

Bishop Guttenbiel and Peni Tonga perform at a dinner with Scott Wilde, Assistant Commissioner of Education over the South Pacific.

Mom with Maopa Finau and Sister Johnson

Dad's dinner plate with ofi (sweet potato), plantain, lobster tail in a sauce, ika (raw fish), beef, watermelon and macaroni salad.

Mom had kumala (purple yam) but NO IKA!

We were entertained with students dancing native dances.

Hawaiian Hula.....not a Tongan dance!

SORRY...the names are all there for our benefit...not yours!

First we noticed the new bulletin boards in the teachers lounge.

Maopa on the left and Fifita Uipi on the right, brought their catering students to serve the meal that they had prepared for us.
Our young adults are doing service projects to earn money for their youth camp.  We had them clean three very dirty vehicles!  Last weekend we got ours really muddy as we took Dr. and Sis. Cutler on a "scenic island tour!"

Since the ocean pictures all look the same, I'll share pictures of the critters we find.  Every shell is inhabited with a cute crab!
The local kids are easily entertained at the ocean.  The sand is quite course, because it is coral particles.  The salt content is so high that it really sticks to you....and the inside of your sandals and of course the carpet in the car.
