June 7, 2014 Pictures

Just when we think that we have visited every beach on our 19 mile Island, we
discover another remote one.  Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2014, we felt the "need" to
go exploring and found a beautiful spot just west of the Blow Holes.

My fearless companion is getting pretty close to the edge!

The Alands start the trek down to where the water is coming through holes in the coral.

The interesting rugged coral formations with ngi ngi shrubs on top.

The view from above as the waves hit the coral and rush through the holes.
It makes a loud roar sound as it blows through and makes a geyser.

The hidden trail to the lower beach....just another picturesque walk in paradise.
It never get old!

Just fun photography!

....and the reward at the bottom.

I don't know if he was dreaming about diving,
but it is only 2 1/2 to 3 feet deep.

The blow hole in the back must be shooting 30 feet high.

As the sun is getting in the way, the real entertainment starts.  A group of young men
come in to have fun.  The ones on the coral would whistle when a wave was coming in
to signal the divers.  They would time the wave and dive into it as it would raise the
water lever by two feet.  They dove off the lower and upper rock into the shallow water.
The young man in the water is doing his laundry.....

....the process continues by rubbing everything with sand and then going
into the water to rinse it off.  By the time he gets home...it will be dry!
And we make life so difficult with technology.....

Now this one was a classic......you walk out to the coral breaker, find a blow hole
and sit on it!  This is the same one that was shooting 30 feet in the air.

.....and.....just wait for a wave.

The big waves would blow him up into the air and they would roar with laughter.

On your way back to shore, carefully walking on the coral with bare feet,
you can't pass up a nice coral rock.....

...without climbing up and waiting for a wave.

Then it is back to a shallow dive in the ocean.
 Life is pretty simple here.
