Today was the last day of our Preach My Gospel training and I am here to tell you, it was a powerful amazing MTC experience. We learned a lot after role playing, we cried, sweated, and worried about it, but we came out convinced of the spirit of the program. Its interesting what you learn when you take on the role of someone else and then try to help someone else with their concerns. I love the fact that there is no longer a memorized script, everything is taught according to the needs of the person and the promptings of the spirit. I can't tell you how touched I have been and how often I have been reduced to tears. I'm glad though that there is another lady in our district who cries like I do.
We have learned to love the folks we have worked with, especially with our district which is comprised of 4 couples, and are constantly amazed at the power in the MTC. We come from all walks of life and are headed to England, 2 couples to Africa, and us to Tonga. We again came out of the training exhausted and yet exhilarated. When we were headed to dinner, we ran into 3 young ladies who will be serving Tongan speaking missions in the States. They were Tongans who have been raised in Utah, they were super excited that we were going to Tonga, wanted to go with us. They said there are 2 districts of missionaries that are going to Tonga on missions, not sure when that will be. It was lots of fun meeting them and talking to them, beautiful girls.
Glad it's Friday though. Steve and I have been working on our computer skills, which leaves us both angry and excited that maybe we've got some things figured out, then we get into something that makes us confused. We have met many wonderful young folks and are excited about their excitement. What a grand place to be.
I talked to Annie tonight, she was going to see grandpa and grandma tonight. Its hard for all of us to see his decline, its time for everyone to let him go. I'm sure he's ready to go, I just hate thinking of him so dependent on others. He's such a fighter, but I did tell him to let go and come be our companion. We'd be a good threesome, and he'd finally be able to go on the mission that he missed.
I've got some pictures I'm going to try to post, so wish me luck.
