Hum, I've started, stopped and tried again, finally had to call Blake and Tristan about how to work this BlogSpot page. It seems like there are so many things that pop up during the day that I want to write about and then when its time to write, whoosh, over my head it goes. Maybe it didn't even get close to my head. Now my problem is hand/ eye coordination, which is getting worse. Our room situation is not conducive to having a desk and working area. But so what part of life is perfect.
We had Sacrament meeting this am at 7:30 which was early. We have been so tired, physically and emotionally with all the things going on. We have loved meeting the young people, they are all so beautiful and full of energy. Even the Seniors, as we are classified, are amazing. Its really hard to describe the energy of what is happening here, unless you have been here. Sacrament meeting was wonderful, loved the spirit of the young people. Sister Wixom, the General Primary president, talked in Relief Society about the missionary spirit. She and her husband served as President of the Washington DC South mission. She was such a good speaker, and again a senior moment, can't remember exactly what she said, just felt the love.
We have had some time to spend with Michael, Somer and Leila. We've had some fun, eaten good food, and they have been patient following us around trying to find the last minute stuff we need for Tonga. I have to tell a funny story about the first night we went with Michael and crew. We got back to the MTC after heavy shopping, stopped at the gate to get back into the MTC, used our card to get in but the gate, but it wouldn't work. There we were standing outside the gate with all our purchases and no way to get back in. Yikes, was there a curfew? Crap, now what do we do. We packed back into the pickup, luckily, Michael hadn't pulled away, we were only about a 1/2 mile away, I could be exaggerating, but it felt like it. Didn't want to walk that far, my feet were tired. We drove around to the front of the MTC and found a guard house, Michael pulled in and reported to the guard that he had a delinquent senior couple that had stayed out past their curfew and he needed to get them back to their room. The guard looked at us with a big question, then opened the gate and let us in. The lesson we learned is "yes, there is a Senior Curfew". Dah! Oh well, we have something to laugh about. Another lesson learned.
We have a fireside tonight at 5:30 which should rate up there at a 10 if it goes in the same pattern as the rest of the events here. Can't believe we only have 3 more days of instruction here at the MTC, some time with Annie and Family then on to Tonga. Can't wait.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Love that you missed curfew!
