August 5, 2013
Got up at 5, got ready for the day and flew from IF to Salt Lake City where Brad picked us up and took us to the MTC.  My goodness, they were super organized, everything seemed to go like clockwork, maybe this has been going on for a very long time.  We were so tired, since we hadn't gone to bed until 1, still trying to get packed.  What a joke, not much was organized, but we made it.  We were assigned to stay at the MTC which was good since we don't have any thing to drive, but it has been a little difficult since we really didn't have everything we needed, like exercise clothes which we need since we are sitting all the time.  We are given many breaks throughout the day, but the weather is hot, some of the buildings are not well air conditioned and we are wearing suits.  HOT!!!!  Old folks like us get pretty sleepy in the afternoon.  We are amazed at all the young people who are on campus, separated into districts and talking in their assigned languages.  Pretty amazing.    Was a good day all in all.
Got a Telephone call from Dawn Egbert, dad's hospice nurse.  She had seen dad Sunday and today.  She reported she thought he had another stroke, left sided weakness, irregular heart rate, cough, wet lung sounds.  She also reported he wasn't tracking real well, responding very little.  Not really hopeful about his prognosis.  Family is pretty well prepared for the inevitable.
